The curriculum of the PSW Standardized Bridging Program marks the culmination of a joint initiative of the Ontario Government and the Ontario Community Support Association to revise the training and education that prepares the various categories of support workers.

This program standardizes training and provides a solid education base for both community and facility employment of support workers

Education of support workers must prepare them to develop a broad range of abilities far beyond dexterity skills. Workers must also be taught to recognize the value of their role and provide not only for the comfort and safety of their client, but also to demonstrate sensitivity and respect for those in their care.
